According to the introduction of Sam Ding, the chief technical expert of CSR, the R&D Centre will focus on the dynamics, structural strength, vibration and noise reduction, comprehensive comfort, material processing and other key areas of high-speed trains, metro and other rail transit vehicles, taking new technologies, materials, structures and processes as the entry point to carry out R&D cooperation, and focus on the research of the international rail transit "connectivity" technology and standard specification system. It also focuses on the research of international rail transit "interconnection" technology and standard specification system, cultivates international talents, and creates a "highland" in Europe for aggregating new high-speed rail technology.
Ding told the reporter that CSR Sifang has implemented global R&D layout in recent years, established an open mechanism and platform for collaborative innovation among industries, universities and research institutes, and gathered global innovation resources through technological fusion and radiation, and the establishment of R&D centre in the United Kingdom this time is a key step in the establishment of high-speed rail innovation system in the global framework. Previously, CSR Sifang has set up "China-Thailand High-speed Railway Joint Research Centre" and "China-Germany Railway Technology Joint R&D Centre" in Thailand and Germany.
